Refunds and Returns Policy

This policy applies to physical books and products bought from artmatter.org.uk by UK consumers. Nothing in this policy affects your statutory rights.

1. Your right to cancel

If you are a UK consumer buying from us online, you have the legal right to cancel your order without giving a reason.

You must tell us within 14 days of receiving your order that you wish to cancel. You then have another 14 days to return the item to us.

EU consumers may also have a legal right to cancel within 14 days, where applicable. Customers in other countries may have rights under their local consumer laws.

Please include your order number and the email address used to place the order.

You can use the cancellation form at the end of this policy, but you do not have to.

2. Returning items

Returned items should be sent back in the same condition in which you received them.

You may inspect the item as you would in a shop, but we may reduce your refund if the item has been handled more than necessary and this has reduced its value.

You are responsible for the cost of returning unwanted items, unless the item is faulty, damaged, not as described, or we sent the wrong item.

3. Refunds

Where you have a legal right to cancel, we will refund the price paid for the returned item, including the standard delivery cost you paid when ordering.

If you chose a more expensive delivery option than our standard delivery option, we only have to refund the cost of standard delivery.

Refunds will be made to the original payment method where possible, including Stripe or PayPal.

We will issue the refund within 14 days of receiving the returned item, or within 14 days of receiving evidence that you have sent it back.

We may withhold the refund until we have received the returned item or evidence that it has been sent back.

4. Faulty, damaged or incorrect items

If your order arrives faulty, damaged, not as described, or you receive the wrong item, please contact us as soon as possible at: info@artmatter.org.uk

Please include your order number and a description of the issue. We may ask for photographs to help us understand the problem.

If an item is faulty, damaged, not as described, or incorrect, you may be entitled to a refund, repair or replacement under applicable consumer law.

For UK consumers, if you reject a faulty item within 30 days of receiving it, you are usually entitled to a full refund.

For faulty, damaged, not-as-described or incorrect items, we will cover the reasonable cost of return postage where a return is required.

5. Orders that do not arrive

Delivery times vary depending on destination and shipping method.

Unless we have agreed a different delivery timescale with you, UK orders should usually be delivered within 30 days.

If your order is not delivered within the required timeframe, you may be entitled to cancel the order and receive a refund.

6. International orders, customs and shipping restrictions

We sell internationally, but we cannot ship to every country.

Some destinations are unavailable due to carrier, customs, sanctions, insurance, payment or other restrictions outside our control. Our current shipping restrictions are set out in our Terms and Conditions and/or delivery information.

If an order is placed for a destination we cannot ship to, we will cancel the order and refund any payment taken to the original payment method.

For orders delivered outside the United Kingdom, you may be responsible for import duties, taxes, customs charges or handling fees charged in your country.

These charges are not set or collected by ArtMatter.

If an international order is returned to us because customs charges were not paid, or because the parcel was not collected, we may refund the item price once the parcel has been returned to us. Original delivery costs may not be refundable unless required by law.

  • the email address used to place the order;

  • the item or items you wish to cancel or return.

You may use the cancellation form below, but you do not have to.
